It also tracks Returnees who returned to their location of origin.

From 01 January 2021 to 31 July 2021, IOM Yemen DTM estimates that 8,205 households (HH) (49,230 Individuals) have experienced displacement at least once.

Between 25 July 2021 and 31 July 2021, IOM Yemen DTM tracked 457 households (2,742 individuals) displaced at least once. The highest number of displacements were seen in:

  • Shabwah (147 HH) – Bayhan (137 HH), Ain (6 HH), Ataq (3 HH) districts. Most displacements in the governorate originated from Al Bayda.
  • Lahj (79 HH) – Al Had (79 HH) district. All displacements in the governorate orginiated from Al Bayda.
  • Al Hudaydah (60 HH) – Hays (39 HH), Ad Durayhimi (19 HH), At Tuhayat (2 HH) districts. Most displacements in the governorate originated from Al Hudaydah and Taizz.

Most displacements resulted from the increased conflict in the following governorates and districts.

  • Al Bayda (248 HH) – Nati' (150 HH), Az Zahir (81 HH), Na'man (17 HH) districts.
  • Al Hudaydah (66 HH) – Ad Durayhimi (16 HH), Hays (16 HH), Al Hawak (9 HH) districts.
  • Marib (22 HH) – Rahabah (13 HH), Mahliyah (9 HH) districts.

Some 47 HH were displaced in the previous reporting period, which covered 18 July - 24 July 2021.  However, they were only identified in the current period and so, this figure has been added to the cumulative displacement total recorded from the beginning of the year.

Since the beginning of 2021, DTM also identified 523 displaced households who left their locations of displacement and either moved back to their place of origin or another location.
