Over the reporting period, a total of 2,469 cross-border movements were observed at the Flow Monitoring Points (FMPs). The average daily number of flows was 107. This represented a three (3%) per cent increase compared to September, during which 104 individual movements were observed on a daily basis. Mozambique (57%), Malawi (42%), United Republic of Tanzania (1%) and South Africa (<1%) were the main countries of departure, while Malawi (57%), Mozambique (43%) and Zambia (<1%) were the main countries of intended destination of individuals passing through the different FMPs. Out of 2,469 individuals observed, 62 per cent were males and 38 per cent were females. There was a number of women who were visibly pregnant. Boys and girls (males and females below 18) made up 14 per cent of individuals observed. Of the 364 children observed, 36 were children travelling without an adult (19 boys and 17 girls). However, this information is based on direct observation and self-reporting, and therefore is likely under-reported.
