According to the latest available gures from the Turkish Presidency of Migration Management (PMM), there are more than 5.2 million foreign nationals present in Türkiye, 3.9 million of whom are seeking international protection. Most are Syrians (3,500,964 individuals) who have been granted temporary protection status. In addition, international protection holders from countries including Iraq, Afghanistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran constitute another group of foreign nationals. According to UNHCR, there were 318,903 refugees and asylum-seekers in Türkiye as of mid of 2022.

Moreover in 2022, according to PMM, there were 33,246 international protection applicants in the country, a figure released by PMM annually.
In addition, there are 1,354,707 foreign nationals present in Türkiye, holding residence permits. Compared to January 2022, this is a decrease of 10,284 individuals.

According to the latest available figures from the Turkish Presidency of Migration Management (PMM), there are more than 5.2 million foreign nationals present in Türkiye, 3.9 million of whom are seeking international protection. Most are Syrians (3,535,898 individuals) who have been granted temporary protection status. In addition, international protection holders from countries including Iraq, Afghanistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran constitute another group of foreign nationals. According to UNHCR, there were 318,903 refugees and asylum-seekers in Türkiye as of mid of 2022.
Moreover in 2021, according to PMM, there were 29,256 international protection applicants in the country, a figure released by PMM annually.
In addition, there are 1,354,094 foreign nationals present in Türkiye, holding residence permits. Compared to December 2021, this is an increase of 42,461 individuals.

The number of foreign nationals has decreased by 168,604 in comparison to November 2021 (3.7 million foreign nationals).
In addition, there are 1,345,488* foreign nationals present in Türkiye holding residency permits, including humanitarian residency holders. Compared to November 2021, this is an increase of 69,747 individuals. The exact number of humanitarian residency holders is unknown, but it is estimated that there are more than several thousand humanitarian residency permit holders.

Moreover, according to UNHCR**, there are close to 330,000 international protection status holders and asylum-seekers. The number of foreign nationals has decreased by 71,713 in comparison to September 2021 (3.7 million foreign nationals).
In addition, there are 1,363,982* foreign nationals present in Türkiye holding residency permits, including humanitarian residency holders. Compared to September 2021, this is an increase of 141,308 individuals. The exact number of humanitarian residency holders is unknown, but it is estimated that there are more than several thousand humanitarian residency permit holders.
