According to the latest available figures from the Turkish Presidency of Migration Management (PMM), there are more than 5.1 million foreign nationals present in Türkiye, 3.8 million of whom are seeking international protection. Most are Syrians (3,447,837 individuals) who have been granted temporary protection status. In addition, international protection holders from countries including Iraq, Afghanistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran constitute another group of foreign nationals. According to UNHCR, there were 318,903 refugees and asylum-seekers in Türkiye as of mid of 2022.
Moreover in 2022, according to PMM, there were 33,246 international protection applicants in the country, a figure released by PMM annually.
In addition, there are 1,339,738 foreign nationals present in Türkiye, holding residence permits. Compared to February 2022, this is a decrease of 54,699 individuals.

In 2022 the International Organization for Migration (initiated the implementation of the Labour Migration Programme Central Asia,' which is financed by the Swiss Development and Cooperation Agency. The program's primary objective is to establish secure, well organized, and systematic recruitment pathways that address the demands of employers, safeguard the rights of migrant workers and increase developmental impacts in both the origin and destination countries. The project focuses on Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.

The Displacement Tracking Matrix (is a method that collects and examines data to share essential information about the movement, susceptibilities, and necessities of displaced and moving groups. These data help decision makers and responders offer more suitable aid to these populations. 

Key informants were interviewed during focus group sessions to identify locations with migrant presence. Results of the Baseline Assessment show that 668,422 migrant workers were present in Kazakhstan at the moment of data collection. The biggest share of migrant workers was located in the Mangystau region (31.9%), Almaty region (18.8%), and Almaty city (18.1%). The smallest share of migrant workers was residing in the West-Kazakhstan region (0.4%), East-Kazakhstan region (0.5%), and North-Kazakhstan region (0.7%).

As per January 2023 population count findings, the Bentiu Town Sites (A, B, C, D, and E) population stands at 63,022 individuals / 9,089 households (on average 6 individuals per household). This represents one per cent decrease (5,563 individuals/237 households) compared to October 2022.
 

As a subcomponent of the Mobility Tracking methodology (Round Five), the Emergency Event Tracking (EET) tool is deployed to track sudden displacement, provide more frequent updates on the scale of displacement, and quantify the affected population when needed.

During the reporting period (08 to 21 March 2023), a total of 128 movements were recorded - 46 arrivals (3,978 individuals), 70 departures (2,590 individuals), 3 transits (22 individuals) and 9 returns (78 individuals). The largest arrival movements were recorded in Mocimboa Da Praia (2,960 individuals), Macomia (559 individuals) and Ibo (168 individuals). The largest departure movements were recorded in Nangade (882 individuals), Macomia (624 individuals), Mueda (362 individuals) and Metuge (186 individuals). The largest transit movement was recorded within Ancuabe (15 individuals). The largest return movement was recorded within Quissanga (39 individuals). Only 4 of the mobile groups were displaced for the first time, 66 per cent for a second time and 30 per cent were displaced at least three times.

Mozambique’s National Institute for Disaster Management (INGD) estimates 886,487 were affected by the second landfall of Tropical Storm Freddy - directly impacting communities of Zambezia, Sofala and Tete. As of 10 March, INGD have identified at approximately 240,000 people already affected by the first landfall of Tropical Storm Freddy (24 February) as well as recent floods recorded in central and southern Mozambique. As of 22 March 2023, available reports indicate 70,9502 individuals (16,253 families) in 105 ACs across Zambezia, 47,2422 individuals (9,944 families) have taken shelter in 55 accommodation centres (ACs) across Sofala, 59,594 individuals (12,020 families) in 32 ACs across Tete, 3,634 individuals (792 families) in 15 ACs across Inhambane and 4,639 individuals (947 families) in 14 ACs in Niassa. The majority of these centres are schools and churches. Reported priority needs include WASH, protection, health, food and emergency shelters. As rain and flood events develop, ongoing joint assessments with INGD and humanitarian partners monitor the needs and conditions of affected populations in the region. While movements remain dynamic in Zambezia impacted districts, accomadation Centres out of the reported 105 Accomadation centres require further validation.

Face à cette situation et à une menace toujours présente, il est devenu urgent de prévenir ces catastrophes et de renforcer la capacité des différents acteurs intervenant dans la réduction des risques de catastrophe et la gestion des catastrophes à faire face aux menaces C’est dans ce cadre que dans le projet visant la réduction des risques de catastrophes, financé par la protection civile et l’aide humanitaire de l’Union Européenne, un réseau d’informateurs clés (au niveau communautaire) et un système d’alertes précoces sur les risques de catastrophes ont été mis en place au niveau de 10 villages de la Moughataa (de Bassikounou et 10 autres dans la moughataa de Adel Bagrou.

Ces informateurs clés remontent les informations (alertes météos, risques de sécheresses vers un point focal des alertes qui se charge de vérifier la véracité et la pertinence de l’information avant d’informer les services techniques compétents.

Trinidad and Tobago, along with several other states, continues to navigate the delicate course of the COVID-19 pandemic and its new variants. Consequently, an intensive vaccination program was advanced to safeguard its population against the worst impacts of the virus. Additionally, active COVID-19 cases and related fatalities in the country have significantly trended downward.

Nonetheless, health concerns are but one of the multifaceted complexities spurred by the pandemic as economic and labour market recoveries have been slow and headline inflation has accelerated. Juxtaposed with these realities, however, the situation of Venezuelan nationals continues to evolve. More pointedly, the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago’s (GORTT’s) registration and re-registration exercises for Venezuelans in 2019 and 2021 effectively legitimized the status of successful registrants and facilitated their access to legal employment opportunities.

Nevertheless, it is important to note that, anecdotally, there are accounts of some Venezuelan migrants returning to Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela (hereinafter, Venezuela) and in 2021 there was a major repatriation effort for Venezuelan nationals, spearheaded by the Venezuelan Embassy. Yet, concurrently, reports of irregular entries persist. The Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) 2022, therefore, offers a unique opportunity to explore the ever-changing situation of Venezuelan nationals against these backgrounds.

A total of 1,323 Venezuelan nationals were surveyed in DTM 2022, between November and December 2022. The areas with the highest
number of respondents were Chaguanas, Tunapuna/Piarco, and Penal/Debe.
