About Nigeria
The escalation of violence between all parties in north-eastern Nigeria since 2014 has resulted in mass displacement and deprivation in the states of Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba and Yobe. To better understand the scope of displacement and assess the needs of affected populations, IOM has been implementing its Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) programme starting July 2014, in collaboration with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and State Emergency Management Agencies (SEMAs). The activities of the DTM project, which consist of conducting baseline assessments and registration for IDPs living in camps and host communities, are currently being carried out in Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba and Yobe.
The information collected will contribute to the provision of a comprehensive profile of the IDP population in Nigeria which will be shared with all relevant stakeholders and will contribute towards enabling the government of Nigeria and humanitarian partners identify the needs of Nigeria's displaced population and develop interventions for providing IDPs necessary assistance.

The rainy season in Nigeria typically occurs annually with the greatest concentration of precipitation between the months of June and September. Many states in Nigeria have been affected by unprecedented heavy rainfalls and floods have devastated various communities.
Early Warning System of Transhumance Tracking Tool (TTT) as a component of the IOM's Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) aided by community Key Informants record through the focal person, related alerts to transhumance activities.
On 3rd of November, armed bandits reportedly attacked the communities Udar Yagba and Ukohol in Nyiev ward of Guma LGA in Benue State. The attacks affected 837 individuals, who were displaced to the communities Ortesy in Nyiev ward and Ndzorov in Ndzorov Council ward.

On 19 October, armed herders reportedly attacked the community Gbeji in the Ityuluv ward of Ukum LGA in Benue State. The attack affected 305 individuals and displaced 254 individuals to Ayiin Camp in Mbagber ward of Logo LGA in Benue State.

During the month of July 2022, a total of 31,510 migrants were observed at the various cross-border flow monitoring points (12,153 individuals entering Nigeria by the FMPs and 19,357 individuals leaving Nigeria by the FMPs).

On 12 September, armed bandits reportedly attacked the communities Gidan Illo in Magaji Gari ward and Baruda in Bardoki ward. Both communities are located in Gummi LGA in Zamfara state.
