Migration Along the Eastern Corridor (August 2024)

Mozambique - NATIONAL DISPLACEMENT PROFILE (NDP) 2023

As of December 2023, there are 709,529 IDPs across 264 locations in Northern, Central and Southern Mozambique, primarily in Cabo Delgado province (76%). Two thirds of Cabo Delgado’s IDPs were displaced between 2020 and 2021, with 82 per cent experiencing multiple displacements.

Burundi – Internal Displacement: Multisectoral Location Assessment Report (May 2024)

DTM identified 76,987 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in 102,824 displaced households in the 18 provinces of Burundi during the month of May 2024. Among those identified, 93 per cent were displaced due to environment-related disasters while 7 per cent were a result of other reasons.

Ethiopia - National Returns Map 16 (November 2022 - June 2023)

Between April and June 2023, IOM DTM deployed Site Assessment (SA) Round 33 and Village Assessment Survey (VAS) Round 16, carrying out a multisectoral location assessment in Tigray region, and a figure update in selected high mobility locations across the rest of Ethiopia. The November 2022 - January 2023 data (Round 32 for SA and Round 15 for VAS) was compiled with the April - June 2023 data (Round 33 for SA and Round 16 for VAS) to consolidate national IDP and returning IDP figures updated to June 2023. The locations assessed during both rounds of data collection are not duplicated in the consolidated figures. The National Returns Map visualizes locations of return, density of return caseload, primary reasons for initial displacement, estimated return figures, and access constraints.
