About Djibouti
In Djibouti, DTM was activated in May 2017, in response to important migration movements mainly from Ethiopia heading to Yemen and Saudi Arabia through the Horn of Africa. DTM is operational in Djibouti to gather, analyse and disseminate critical, multi-layered information on the mobility, vulnerabilities and needs of migrants on the move that enables decision-makers and responding partners to provide targeted, context-specific assistance.
In order to facilitate humanitarian interventions, DTM works closely with IOM’s other programmes through referring identified populations in need of assistance at flow monitoring points to IOM’s Direct Assistance, Health, Voluntary Humanitarian Return (VHR), Protection and Migrant Rapid Response Mechanism (MRRM) programmes. Furthermore, DTM Djibouti supports Governmental partners such as the National Office of Assistance to the Refugees and the Disaster victims (ONARS), the Djibouti National Institute of Statistics (INSD), and other partners including but not limited to UNICEF, UNHCR, WFP, UNOPS, ICRC, DRC through providing better understanding of migration patterns through Djibouti for better response planning.

Au cours du mois de Février, le nombre moyen pondéré d’individus observés par jour a été de 1 040, ce qui correspond à une augmentation de (32%) par rapport aux 790 individus observés en moyenne quotidiennement par rapport au mois precedent(*).
Suite à la fermeture des frontières en Ethiopie et aux renforcements des contrôles frontaliers au Yémen, certains des migrants qui transitaient par Djibouti afin d'aller vers la péninsule arabique se sont retrouvés bloqués à Djibouti.
Following the border closure in Ethiopia and due to the stricter border management policies in Yemen, some of the migrants who were transiting through Djibouti on their way to the Arabian Peninsula found themselves stranded in the country.

La DTM a identifié 110 245 personnes réparties dans 18 110 ménages, affectées par l'inondation dans la ville de Djibouti.
L'OIM a mené une enquête dans la ville d'Obock entre le 29 mars et le 5 avril 2020 afin de mieux comprendre quelles sont les connaissances et perceptions des populations locales et des migrants concernant la maladie à Coronavirus ainsi que l'attitude de ces populations vis-à-vis du virus.

Pendant le mois de mars 2020, 11 222 mouvements ont été observés aux points de suivi de flux à Djibouti. Cela représente une diminution de moitié par rapport aux 22 461 mouvements observés pendant au mois de février.
During the month of March 2020, 11,222 movements were observed at flow monitoring points in Djibouti. This number has decreased by half compared to the 22,461 movements observed in February. The intended final destinations were the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (85%), Djibouti (11%) and Ethiopia (4%).
During 2019, 215,710 movements were tracked through 5 FMPs in Djibouti. Almost all of these were Ethiopian nationals travelling through Djibouti en route to the Arab Peninsula.

Au cours du mois de Janvier, le nombre moyen pondéré d’individus observés par jour a été de 790, ce qui correspond à une augmentation de 1,3% par rapport aux 780 individus observés en moyenne quotidiennement au mois précédent(*).
Au cours du mois de Décembre, le nombre moyen d’individus observés par jour a été de 821, ce qui correspond à une augmentation de 37% par rapport aux 599 individus observés en moyenne quoti-diennement par rapport au mois précédent.
Au cours du mois de Juillet, le nombre moyen d’individus observés par jour a été de 928, ce qui correspond à une augmentation de 7% par rapport aux 869 individus observés en moyenne quotidiennement au mois précédent.
Au cours du mois de Juin, le nombre moyen d’individus observés par jour a été de 869, ce qui correspond à une augmentation de 7% par rapport aux 809 individus observés en moyenne quotidiennement au mois précédent.
Au cours du mois de Novembre, le nombre moyen d’individus observés par jour a été de 599, ce qui correspond à une diminution de 20% par rapport aux 750 individus observés en moyenne quotidiennement par rapport au mois précédent.
Au cours du mois d'Octobre, le nombre moyen d’individus observés par jour a été de 750, ce qui correspond à une diminution de 6% par rapport aux 798 individus observés en moyenne quotidiennement au mois précédent.
Au cours du mois de Septembre, le nombre moyen d’individus observés par jour a été de 798, ce qui correspond à une augumentation de 18% par rapport aux 674 individus observés en moyenne quotidiennement au mois précédent.
