About Central African Republic
In response to the sectarian and inter-communal violence that erupted in December 2013 in the Central African Republic, and subsequent displacement of persons, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) rolled out its Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM). DTM in the Central African Republic collects key information on internally displaced persons (IDPs) and returnees through different components and methodologies throughout the country.Information collected include the location, numbers, periods of displacement, area of origin, needs and vulnerabilities of the population displaced as well as services available and return intentions. While DTM rounds are implemented on a monthly basis, enumerators are also deployed in instances of new displacement to conduct rapid assessments and inform humanitarian partners in a timely manner.
